The DSi XL is a true wireless powerhouse.  Users have the ability to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo’s wireless gaming network and to download demo versions of Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games from DS Download Stations, Nintendo Zone, or via the Nintendo Channel of the Wii console. Finally, the Nintendo DSi XL connects players to friends through a unique blend of pictures and words. The embedded PictoChat software allows users to draw pictures and/or write out messages that can be passed between up to 16 users within local range of one another over a Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.

The Nintendo DSi has competed in the market for some time now.  Despite strong opening sales, purchases are dwindling due to the recession affecting our worldwide economy. Wii Sports Resort was previously number 1 on all formats until it was knocked off by Ashes Cricket 2009 for two weeks, however, now it has managed to yet again take top spot. This rise back to the top spot means that Wii Sports Resort has now spent 15 weeks at number 1 since it's release.

Unfortunately for Activision, their recent release, Wolfenstein wasn't able to get the number 1 overall formats place. With 2000 less sales that Wii Sports Resort, it only managed to get number one of Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC charts, not too bad.

Despite Activision not being able to claim the top spot, they should still be happy that they have 3 of their games all in the top 10 best sellers.

However, both Activision and Nintendo might have some stiff competition in the upcoming few weeks with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum. This new Batman game has already become popular within the pre-order charts, plus with the demo that was recently released, sites that do video game reviews have been going crazy. I won't be surprised when the new Batman game rises straight to the number one spot.
